EF2 Scott 5:32-5:50 PM 1 death - The final tornado in the Sadou tornado family caused significant damage to numerous buildings in Scott. The predecessor to the tornado was first sighted roughly three miles southeast of Duson. The funnel struggled to reach the ground, however, the tornado managed to touch down just southwest of Scott. The tornado caused minor damage to at least ten homes in a subdivision. As the tornado approached Scott, the tornado peaked 2.3 miles in width. The tornado was very slow-moving, which prevented people from having little time to take shelter. The tornado entered the city of Scott at 5:43 P.M. The tornado destroyed an industrial plant and leveled mobile homes. Luckily, the mobile homes were vacant. The tornado either damaged or destroyed 50 to 60 homes in Scott before exiting the city. When the tornado exited Scott, the tornado violently picked up speed and entered the corner of a mobile home park. At least 30 mobile homes were damaged and over 15 were beyond repair. Only six injuries occurred, including four other people who suffered critical injuries. The tornado crossed I-10, where one person died and three were injured when their car was lifted into the air and tossed into a field. The tornado dissipated not long after it crossed I-10.
