Hurricane Linda of 2027 was a deadly, costly, and powerful category 5 major hurricane that killed 85 across south-western and midwestern United States. Linda made landfall 3 miles north of downtown San Diego on August 22. 54.9 inches of rain fell in San Diego, and 49.2 inches fell in Carlsbad. A storm surge of 14 feet severly flooded coastal areas as far north as Santa Monica. A wind gust of 159 MPH was recorded on the roof of One America Plaza in downtown San Diego. In Oklahoma, flash flooding killed 4 near Tulsa. Also, an EF2 and EF4 touched down in San Diego County, the EF2 near La Jolla and the EF4 in Santee.
