KLM Flight 4853 was a regularly scheduled flight from Amsterdam to the Canary Islands. On March 27, 2025, the Boeing 747 serving the flight was in foggy conditions at night in Tenerife North-Ciudad de La Laguna Airport when a Pan Am Boeing 747 crashed into the KLM aircraft while trying to leave the airport to arrive at El Hierro Airport which resulted the Pan Am to crash into the KLM creating a super large explosion destroying a Southwest Boeing 737 at the airport. The crash resulted in 696 fatalities, 81 injuries, and $942 million dollars in damages (2025 USD).
