Unusual tropical cyclone landfall locations[]
- On May 28, 2016, Hurricane Claus made landfall on Thunder Bay, Ontario. One of only two storms to do so.
- On December 3, 2016, Tropical Storm Pamela made landfall on Eastern Keweenaw County, the only storm to do so.
- On June 30, 2017, Hurricane Fred became the only storm to make landfall in Grand Marais, Minnesota.
- On July 14, 2017, Tropical Storm Jacob made landfall on Isle Royale as a post-tropical cyclone.
- On July 18, 2017, Hurricane Lloyd made landfall on Marathon, Ontario as a Category 5 hurricane.
- On August 4, 2017, Hurricane Nestor made landfall in Ontonagon, Michigan.
- On September 12, 2017, Hurricane Rita made landfall in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
- On September 21, 2017, Hurricane Simon made landfall in Duluth, Minnesota.
- On January 4, 2018, Hurricane Adrian struck Windigo, Isle Royale as a Category 4 hurricane, the strongest landfall on record on that island.
